Kaitlyn Hershiser, LISW-CP, CSAC
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Kaitlyn is excited to work with the New Hope Counseling and Wellness Center team. She holds a Licensed Independent Social Worker—clinical Practice license in South Carolina, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker license, and a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor certificate in Virginia. Kaitlyn is originally from New Jersey and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Elementary Education from William Paterson University. She then attended Norfolk State University in Virginia and graduated with a Master’s degree in Social Work.
Kaitlyn has experience working across levels of care, including IOP and PHP, in an eating disorder clinic and Outpatient mental health, assisting clients with depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and PTSD. She has worked with adolescents, adults, and families and utilizes a strengths-based approach to assist clients in empowering themselves. Kaitlyn utilizes aspects of CBT, DBT, and Motivational Interviewing when treating clients.
Kaitlyn spends her free time practicing the self-care practices she helps others establish. These include reading, hiking, playing with her dog, and spending time with friends and loved ones.
