Healthy Breakfast Ideas + The Importance of a Balanced Breakfast

Having a healthy and balanced breakfast every morning should be an essential in your morning routine. It sets you up for a happy, healthy, & successful day if you nourish yourself right away and prioritize that you are sending a signal to your body that you are taking care of your health today! Skipping breakfast will lead you to binge later in the day and keep you in a bad cycle. Break the cycle by nourishing yourself ahead of time before your body gets into primal hunger states.

To beat the afternoon slump & brain fog, prioritize a BALANCED breakfast! This means that you have everything from each of the following food groups in your meal.

To ensure you are eating a healthy and balanced breakfast make sure it contains

Protein: helps build muscle and keeps you fuller longer

  • examples: eggs, nut butter, protein powder, hemp seeds, tofu, etc.

Healthy Fat: great for skin and brain health

  • examples: avocado nuts, chia seeds, nut butter, coconut oil, etc.

Fiber: keeps you full longer and aids digestion

  • examples: any carbohydrate, fruit, vegetables, chia flax or hemp seeds

Carbohydrate: gives you sustained energy and provides many essential micronutrients, fruits, vegetables

  • examples: bread, oats, sweet potato, quinoa, etc
